Program Associate

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (Committee) is a nonpartisan nonprofit organization devoted to educating policymakers, the media and citizens about the fiscal challenges facing the country, as well as the possible solutions. The Committee is made up of some of the nation's leading budget experts including many of the past Chairmen and Directors of the Budget Committees, the Congressional Budget Office, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Government Accountability Office.

The Program Associate will report to the Vice President and Deputy Chief of Staff and provide operational support to the organization. This will include scheduling meetings, project research and writing, database entry, assisting with office operations, and assisting with external communications using Constant Contact. An ideal candidate will have excellent organizational and project management skills, previous scheduling experience, and be a successful multitasker. There are many opportunities for professional growth in this position.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Coordinating and managing email send outs and setting up email messages using Constant Contact
  • Assisting the senior leadership team with scheduling meetings
  • Assisting in event planning and logistical support
  • Assisting with database entry and research
  • Exercising judgement to prioritize opportunities, preparing background materials and presentations and other project supporting materials
  • Managing up and across functional teams to achieve project goals and objectives
  • Conducting research for organization initiatives 
  • Special projects as needed

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Excellent organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to work independently and take initiative
  • Excellent communicator, both verbal and written
  • Experience with Constant Contact is a plus 
  • Bachelor’s degree required
  • Minimum 1-3 years of experience
  • Hill experience is a plus

Salary: $48,000 to $65,000 with generous benefits package including health, dental, life and long- term disability insurance; 403(b) contribution; and paid time off.
