Multimedia Designer 

The Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget (Committee) is a nonpartisan, non-profit organization committed to educating the public on issues with significant fiscal policy impact. Our bipartisan leadership comprises some of the nation's leading budget experts including many past heads of the House and Senate Budget Committees, the Congressional Budget Office, the Office of Management and Budget, and the Government Accountability Office.  

The Committee is looking for a talented and creative Multimedia Designer that will create visually compelling content in support of our work and mission. We are looking for someone with a strong portfolio, a proven track record of delivering exceptional designs, and an ability to translate data-heavy content into appealing designs for a variety of mediums. This role will design and execute for a variety of projects across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Design and create high-quality graphics, infographics, videos, social media posts, event materials, and other materials that further the Committee’s work.
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines while maintaining a high level of attention to detail and quality.
  • Work with the Senior Staff to brainstorm and conceptualize different design and visual projects that enhance the Committee’s key messaging, work, and impact.  
  • Maintain consistency in design and visual elements across all communication channels and materials.
  • Stay informed of emerging design trends and techniques to continuously improve and enhance design output.

Qualifications

Ideal candidates will have the following qualifications:

  • Five years of graphic design experience, preferably in a nonprofit, policy, or advocacy setting.  
  • Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), Canva, or other design tools. Knowledge of web design (HTML, CSS, or web platforms like WordPress) required.
  • A strong portfolio demonstrating your design skills and experience in creating materials for both digital and print platforms. Experience creating infographics and data visualizations is highly valued.
  • The ability to visually communicate complex ideas clearly and effectively.
  • Flexibility to adjust designs based on feedback and evolving project requirements.
  • Proven ability to work in fast-paced team environments.
  • An interest in advancing the Committee’s work and mission.  
  • A bachelor’s degree in visual or graphic design a plus.

Salary: $60,000 to $80,000 with generous benefits package including health, dental, life and long-term disability insurance; 403(b) contribution; and paid time off.
