Donald Marron to be new TPC Director

Today, the Tax Policy Center, a joint venture of the Urban Institute and the Brookings Institute, announced that Donald Marron will become the new director of TPC. We at CRFB praise the TPC for appointing someone with such vast experience, knowledge and balance.

Donald has worked as a Member of the President’s Council of Economic Advisers, was acting Director of the CBO, and served on the Joint Economic Committee in Congress. He is currently a visiting professor at the Georgetown University public policy institute. It is comforting to know that someone with such an impressive background will be leading one of the premier public policy centers on all issues related to taxes and economic policy.

Donald was a panelist at our event “Will Health Reform Heal the Federal Budget” in November of 2009, and is also a member of our Announcement Effect Club. The CRFB staff regularly reads his blog and enjoys his views on everything related to economics and finance. We look forward to working more with Donald and his team at TPC as he becomes director on May 17th. Congrats, Donald!
