Director of Health Policy

Anna Bonelli

Anna Bonelli is the Director of Health Policy for the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget, where she analyzes federal health policy to identify savings opportunities. Anna manages the health policy team and oversees multiple projects for the Committee.

Anna held multiple roles in the federal government before joining the Committee. She helped lead the nationwide “unwinding” effort for the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), led regulatory work on financing the Medicaid program, and managed the portfolio of opioids and behavioral health policies for Medicare, Medicaid, CHIP, and marketplaces. As a detailee to the Senate Finance Committee for two years, she helped lead the Medicaid and CHIP portfolio. Anna also led projects at the Government Accountability Office analyzing programs across the federal government. Originally from Minneapolis, Anna has a master’s degree in Urban and Regional Planning from the University of Minnesota. Contact her at bonelli@crfb.org.
