Joe Manchin

Joe Manchin represented West Virginia as a United States Senator from 2010 to 2025, where he held several committee assignments including Chair of the Senate Committee on Energy and Natural Resources and Ranking Member of the Senate Energy Committee, as well as seats on the Appropriations, Armed Services, and Veterans’ Affairs Committees. He also served as Vice Chair of the Democratic Policy and Communications Committee. Before that, he served the people of West Virginia in a number of public offices, including the West Virginia House of Delegates, from 1982 to 1986; the West Virginia Senate, from 1986 to 1996; as West Virginia’s 27th Secretary of State, from 2001 to 2005; and as the 34th Governor of West Virginia, from 2005 to 2010.
