US Budget Watch Releases Analysis of Fiscal Implications of Health Care Reform Plans

Today US Budget Watch released "Evaluating Health Care Plans: An Analysis of the Short- and Long-Term Fiscal Implications of Reform Plans."

The paper compares the bills on several metrics, including cost, deficit impact, medium- to long-term fiscal implications, and the potential to slow long-term health care costs. The report also compares the extent to which the bills expand health insurance coverage, and it identifies budget gimmicks within the bills. The paper specifically analyzes and compares the bills put forward by the Senate HELP Committee, the Senate Finance Committee, and three Committees in the House of Representatives. The release follows our previously released

"Guide to the Health Care Reform Proposals in the 111th Congress."
